New Jersey tip-credit and tip-pool requirements would be adjusted under rules by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
A hearing on the proposed rules was scheduled for Feb. 21, 2020.
Under the proposal, “wages” would exclude gratuities received by employees for services performed for an employer or an employer’s customer. The proposal also would define seasonal employment, seasonal employer, small employer, and tipped employee.
