So, what can you do in Exeter’s parks and green spaces this weekend?

With changes to COVID-19 restrictions, we've set out to clarify what’s open and what’s not in its parks and green spaces.
All of the city’s parks and green spaces – including the six Valley Parks and cemeteries – continue to remain open to the public, provided people keep to social distancing measures. The same applies to allotments throughout the city.
However, play areas with play equipment like swings roundabouts and climbing frames remain closed because there is still a risk of the virus being transmitted through touchpoints such as the equipment.
For that very same reason, skate parks at Flowerpot Playing Fields and Exhibition Fields, along with bowling greens, croquet greens and outdoor gyms also remain closed.
There is some good news, with the City Council’s tennis courts and basketball courts at Heavitree Pleasure Grounds now open in line with government advice. People must exercise with their own household and/or one member of another household and remember to keep at least two metres apart whilst using the courts.

- Basketball courts where they are not situated within the confines of a play area
- Multi-use games area (MUGAS) where they are not situated within the confines of a play area
