New on Netflix June 5: 13 Reasons Why Season 4

Also new on Netflix this month and coming out this weekend is a brand-new season of the hit series, 13 Reasons Why. The fourth and final season of this drama picks up after Bryce Harper’s alleged murderer, school bully Monty, is killed in jail. But as we soon find out in Season 4, Monty was actually framed, which sets the students on edge as they start their senior year. Will the truth come out? If not Monty, then who did it? Will Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe) and everyone else finally find peace? Find out in the final season of 13 Reasons Why.

New on Hulu June 5: Shirley

Elisabeth Moss stars in Shirley, the new film on Hulu this weekend. This biographical drama centers on Shirley Jackson, the renowned horror writer who is on the brink of writing her biggest masterpiece when a young, innocent newlywed couple become guests in her and her husband’s home. While in many horror stories the interloper is the one who causes matrimonial distress, in this case Shirley and her philandering husband begin to turn their already-tense relationship away from one another and instead choose to toy with the naive newlyweds under their roof. How far will this writer go for a good horror story? Find out in Shirley.

New on Amazon Prime Video June 7: Equilibrium

Starring Christian Bale, Emily Watson and Taye Diggs, Equilibrium follows one law enforcement officer who thrives in a future where citizens take daily injections of drugs to suppress their emotions. But when Preston (Bale) accidentally misses a dose, he begins to question his morality and the very system he excelled at maintaining. Now, he must try hard to blend in with his prone-to-suspicion society while fighting to overthrow it. A dystopic world where emotions and art are outlawed and law enforcement suppresses human nature? Doesn’t sound too different from the chaos surrounding us today but is new on Amazon Prime this month!
