Protesters screamed "terrorist" at John McDonnell as it was announced he had won his seat in Hayes and Harlington the early hours of this morning.
He was heckled by people in the crowd shouting "liar" as McDonnell gave his acceptance speech.
Police were called in as demonstrators yelled “IRA” at the veteran MP who is set to be ousted as a senior Labour figure following the party's disastrous election showing.

The Shadow Chancellor said: "It is quite clear that there are fears also now for our democracy and the rise of the extreme right.
"But I say now we will organise and we will ensure this type of democracy will reign, and the democratic wishes of our people will be respected, and this sort of extreme right wing violence will not be tolerated within our society."

A clearly upset Mr McDonnell said: “Tonight's result are clearly disappointing for the Labour Party.
“Many of our supporters and members will be heartbroken by what has happened today as their hopes of a Labour government have now been stalled again.
“But I say to them that I don't believe this was a rejection of our policies, this was a result of the decision people took on Brexit, the issue that dominated this election.
“But I do fear for the future of our people. I fear for the people who are queuing in the food banks still, I fear for those four million children who are living in poverty and for the 145,000 of them who are homeless and have no decent roof over their heads.
“But there is hope and there will be hope. Now is not the time to mourn, now is the time to organise.
“There are fears also now for our democracy and the rise of the extreme right.”
And, as the scuffles continued he insisted:“This sort of extreme right-wing violence will not be tolerated".
Mr McDonnell won his seat with 24,545 votes, with his majority falling by almost 10,000.
But it was a grim night for Labour overall as Boris Johnson's Tory party look set to win a majority.
Jeremy Corbyn has said he will resign as leader of the Labour party - but didn't say when he will leave the job.
He said he would not lead the party in any future election campaign.

But he said he would lead the party during a period of "reflection" on tonight's result.
The grim-faced Labour leader, speaking after winning his Islington North seat, said it was his “pride and privilege” to continue as the MP for the North London area.
He confirmed: “I will not lead the party in any future general election campaign. I will discuss with my party to ensure there is a process now of reflection on this result.”
He added: “I will lead the party during that period to ensure that discussion takes place and we move on into the future.”
He said the ideas and principles of Labour were “eternal” and “will be there for all time”.
He added: “This is obviously a very disappointing night. But I want to say this.
“In the election campaign we put forward a manifesto of hope, a manifesto of unity and a manifesto that would help to right the wrongs and injustices and inequalities that exist in this country.”
