ANAHEIM — Anthony Rendon, who earlier this week agreed to a seven-year, $245-million deal with the Angels, will be introduced at a press conference on Saturday at noon at Angel Stadium.

The event will be broadcast live on Fox Sports West, but it will not be open to the public.

Rendon’s deal is the largest free-agent contract in Angels history, surpassing the $240-million deal Albert Pujols signed eight years ago.

Rendon, 29, finished third in the National League MVP voting after hitting .319 with 34 homers and a 1.010 OPS. He was named the first-team third baseman on the inaugural all-MLB team. Rendon helped the Washington Nationals to the World Series title.

The Angels continue to be in the market for starting pitching. They have talked to the Cleveland Indians about a trade for Corey Kluber, and also reportedly talked to the agents for free agent pitchers Hyun-Jin Ryu, Madison Bumgarner and Dallas Keuchel.
