CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A 76th West Virginian has died in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported Monday the latest person to die from the virus is an 80-year-old man from Preston County. The death marked the third in the county since the pandemic began.
The department also noted 2,028 cases have been confirmed as positive with 99,751 laboratory tests being reported to the state. The daily percentage of positive tests was 0.98% compared to a cumulative rate of 2.03%.
