Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta talked to the press about Dani Ceballos’ situation and confirmed that he would like to keep coaching the Spanish midfielder after his loan deal with the Gunners expires by the end of the current season.

“I’m really happy with him, I love how much he enjoys playing football and the passion he brings in every training session and every game. The way he celebrates every goal no matter whether he’s playing or not, he’s developing the right way and he’s become a really important player for us,” said Arteta when asked about Ceballos.

Then, the coach explained what’s happening behind the scenes between Arsenal and Real Madrid.

“We’re talking with the club, we obviously don’t own the player, it’s not entirely our decision. The clubs need to have communication and we’ll see what we can do,” he added.

Real Madrid will likely want to sell Ceballos this summer, although it’s not clear if Arsenal will push for that kind of agreement or just seek another loan deal. The midfielder has never been a relevant player for Zinedine Zidane, so Ceballos and Real Madrid will likely part ways for good this summer if the right offer comes Madrid’s way.
