Boris Johnson celebrated huge election win by breaking alcohol ban and tucking into curry made by Carrie Symonds

BORIS Johnson celebrated his thumping general election win with a glass of wine and a curry cooked by his girlfriend Carrie Symonds.

Carrie, 31, knocked up the spicy dish for elated Boris, 55, in no.11 Downing Street on Friday night.

And Boris was so confident he would win he didn't even draft a resignation speech, the Mail on Sunday claimed.

However, cautious of repeating Theresa May's 2017 defeat, Mr Johnson had not expected such a thumping 80-seat majority - having only expected to win by ten seats.

And the celebrations continued on Friday night, with Boris and Carrie seen after their curry partying with stars including Mick Jagger, Princess Beatrice and David Cameron.

Heading to the London Christmas party, thrown by Russian tycoon Evgeny Lebedev, Boris even got a "man hug" from David Cameron.

Despite the Tory politicians taking opposite sides on the Brexit debate, the pair were witnessed embracing by former Chancellor George Osborne.

Wearing the same blue suit he was sporting as he addressed the nation from 10 Downing Street, Boris rubbed shoulders with Bob Geldof, David Hasselhof and Jemima Goldsmith.

Other guests at the glittering London bash included actress Sadie Frost, model Lily Cole and the PM’s writer sister Rachel Johnson.

The PM guzzled his first alcohol since the campaign began at the beginning of November – and did not spill any red wine like he did when the couple had a notorious late-night bust up at Carrie’s flat.

We can also reveal that Boris was sent messages of congratulation from celebrity pals including Blackadder stars Rowan Atkinson and Stephen Fry and Piers Morgan.

A source said: “Boris was exhausted but elated on Friday night – and Carrie treated him by cooking him his favourite chicken curry, nice and spicy the way he likes it.

“She also poured him a glass or two of red wine, which was the first drink he’s had in months.

“He completely swore off booze while he was campaigning, as he was doing such long hours and travelling around the country.

“But they were finally able to kick back and relax and spend some time together on Friday.

“Boris didn’t have much to drink though as he was up and about early again on Saturday.

“But there were jokes about him not spilling any of the plonk.”

Neighbours of Boris and Carrie in Camberwell, south London called police in June after taping a late-night row between them. We revealed how the argument was sparked by Boris spilling red wine on a cream sofa.

Boris was exhausted but elated on Friday night – and Carrie treated him by cooking him his favourite chicken curry, nice and spicy the way he likes it.

The Premier – who has an 80-seat majority after Thursday’s landslide win – has previously told of his love for £180-a bottle Italian Tignanello red wine. The tipple is also a favourite of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

But yesterday, Boris still managed to look fresh-faced as he made a trip to a cricket club in Tony Blair’s former Sedgefield constituency.

FRESH-FACED AND READY

He was pepped up by messages of congratulations from old pals including Mr Bean star Rowan, 64, on Friday after the scale of his electoral triumph emerged.

A separate source said: “He received lots of messages – including from people who are not Tories - and the one from Rowan was apparently very funny.

“It joked that Britain was in trouble with Boris at the wheel – because he had seen Boris driving a bumper car in a mini fairground at a party years ago.

“Boris was apparently causing carnage knocking into people, with a bottle of champagne between his knees by all accounts.”

Telly host Piers Morgan paid tribute to Boris on Instagram, saying: “I’ve known Boris over 25 years and he’s dreamed of this all his life…..salut Boris and good luck!”

The Prime Minister secured a sweeping 80-seat majority on Thursday - meaning the UK is now on track to leave the EU in less than two months.

Johnson has already guaranteed an extra £33.9bn a year to the NHS by 2023 - one of his ten key election pledges.

Setting out his first plans for Government, the PM is expected to reintroduce his Brexit deal in the Commons next week following the Queen's Speech and State Opening of Parliament on Thursday.
