Cleveland Indians Twitter plays itself with 2016 Cubs World Series joke

Congrats Indians Twitter, you played yourself. Ahead of the Indians’ two-game series against the Cubs, the team tweeted this out:

Well, we weren’t gonna mention it but now that you’ve brought it up… what’s the chance of rain towards the end of tonight’s game? Any possibility of a nice little delay so Jason Heyward can chat with the team?

Knowing there’s a full on reckoning coming from Cubs Twitter, the Indians employed a more savvy move a few hours later by trying to distract us all with hockey:

Nice try, but with a 9:30 p.m. puck drop for the Blackhawks there should be ample time to squeeze in both games.

Indians Twitter may try more tricks before first pitch, so stay alert and don’t ever forget the Cubs won the World Series in 2016… despite being down 3-1 in the series.
