New coronavirus-related deaths in Greater Manchester for the first time in five days

Another three people with Covid-19 have died in the region's hospitals

Three more people have died having contracted coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals.

They are the first new fatalities to be recorded in the region in the last five days.

It means Greater Manchester's death toll now stands at 2,153, NHS England figures show.

On Tuesday, two more people were reported to have died at hospitals run by Pennine Acute NHS Trust, while one person died at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Tuesday, August 11 is:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 230
  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9
  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 445
  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6
  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 562
  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 6
  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 181
  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 227
  • Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 221
  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 13
  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 253

In total six people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 29,425, NHS England said on Tuesday.

The patients were aged between 46 and 96 and all had known underlying health conditions.

Eight deaths were reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
