New Delhi: After taking multiple lives in China, the Coronavirus is now being suspected to slowly spread across India as well. Three people have also been shifted to the isolation ward in the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital of the national capital after being suspected of being infected with the virus.

Additionally, a Thai woman, suspected to have been infected with the virus lost her life on Monday after she was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata about a week ago. According to news agency IANS, the 32-year-old was admitted to the ICU on January 21 after she started having stomach problem, nausea and fever since January 18. Media reports suggest that she had left Thailand in late November and had also visited Nepal before coming to India. The reports also suggest that the Thai consulate general in the area has been informed of her death.

Following that, a lot of precautions are being taken in various parts of the country and necessary steps are being taken for the ease and treatment of the people who are suspected to have the virus in other parts of the country. In Gaya region of Patna, a woman has been kept under observation while special screening has been initiated at the Amritsar airport in Punjab in a bid to curb the possible infection.

In addition to that, about 15 people in Maharashtra have been put under observation upon the suspicions of them being infected with the virus. Apart from that, five other people in Maharashtra have been kept in an isolation facility.

Health Ministry has set up screening points across several airports that handle international arrivals. One such facility at AMritsar airport urges passengers arriving to get self-screened.
