CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Strongsville offensive tackle Blake Miller has the attention of some of college football’s powerhouses.

Miller, a 2022 three-star prospect, announced on Twitter on Monday that he received an offer from Clemson. Miller has now earned offers from 21 schools, according to 247Sports.com. He is ranked as the No. 8 prospect in Ohio and the No. 24 offensive tackle in the country.

With Clemson now coming into the fray, Ohio State will once again have to compete with the Tigers to land one of Ohio’s best offensive linemen.

The Buckeyes had to work hard to maintain 2020 five-star Paris Johnson Jr.'s commitment. He was drawn to former coach Urban Meyer’s prestige, but once Meyer stepped down and Ohio State rebooted its recruiting efforts, he saw how the program was more than Meyer’s illustrious resume. Johnson enrolled at Ohio State in January.

In the 2018 class, the Buckeyes lost out on five-star Ohio offensive tackle Jackson Carman from Fairfield. Carman says he chose Clemson because he wanted to go away from home and see more of the world, and he started against the Buckeyes as Clemson won their matchup in last season’s College Football Playoff semifinal.

Miller recently told cleveland.com he has been in regular contact with Ohio State and Michigan. He said he speaks with Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa once a week, along with graduate assistant Kennedy Cook, who works with the offensive line.

Miller has also spoken with Michigan offensive line coach Ed Warinner and quarterbacks coach Ben McDaniels once a week.

“I feel like they’re just trying to keep a relationship going with me,” Miller said of the two programs.

As a rising junior, Miller is still relatively early in his recruiting process. He doesn’t have a top school and is looking at all his options.

“I really haven’t narrowed things down much at all,” Miller said. “I’m really still pretty open to any school anywhere. There’s no school that’s No. 1 and I’m surefire to go there. I’m just trying to see what everything has to offer, what I like about schools, what I don’t like about schools. And then later on down the line, I can start to narrow things down.”
