IMD predicts very heavy rainfall in Thane and Palghar; issues orange alert for next 3 days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Raigad till August 18.

On Friday (August 14), IMD’s Mumbai centre issued the warning for over 15 districts of the state, including Kolhapur, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur and Osmanabad.
The weather bureau issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy rain) for Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara till August 18.

IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in Mumbai district till August 18.

On Independence Day, IMD has predicted a generally cloudy sky with intermittent moderate rain/ showers likely in city and suburbs with occasional gusty winds. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places, IMD said. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 29 deg Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 24 deg Celsius.

IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatories have reported 2514.1 mm and 2645.2 mm rainfall since June 1.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into along and off the North and South Maharashtra-Goa coast on August 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th.

The maximum temperature in Mumbai today is 28 deg Celsius, while the minimum temperature is 24 deg Celsius.
