Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Baltimore County

(PIKESVILLE, MD) — Maryland State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal motorcycle crash the occurred on Monday night on the ramp from inner loop I-695 to northbound 795 in Baltimore County.

Just prior to 7:15 p.m. on Monday, troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack were dispatched for a report of a motorcycle crash on the ramp from inner loop I-695 to northbound I-795. Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration personnel responded to assist. No lanes of traffic were closed for an extended period of time as a result of this crash.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team responded to the scene and are continuing their investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim, identified as Stanley Lynch, 47, of Baltimore, MD, for unknown reasons, lost control of his motorcycle, collided with the jersey wall and was ejected. The victim and the motorcycle came to an uncontrolled final rest approximately fifty (50) feet below, atop the riverbed. The victim was declared deceased at the scene

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
