GRRATE Courses Available This Fall

August 7, 2020 – The Guitars, Rocketry, Robotics Advanced Technological Education Project (GRRATE) is recruiting students for our fall 2020 in-person courses at the centers.

Select from the following courses:

  • ISC1006 0K1 Rocketry at the Watson Center 8:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays
  • ISC1006 0S1 Robotics at the Andrews Center 1-4 p.m. Fridays
  • ISC1006 0R1 Guitar Building at the Davis Center 1-4 p.m. Thursdays
  • ISC1006 0T1 Guitar Building at the Blount Center 9 a.m.-noon Fridays

This is a three-credit elective course that teaches entry-level STEM skills and encourages positive attitudes towards STEM learning through a project-based curriculum. This course is built for liberal arts students, undecided students and students who aren’t typically drawn to math and sciences. Students learn entry-level math and science skills while building a guitar, building and launching rockets or designing and battling robots.

The course culminates in an all expense paid trip to Kennedy Space Center, if permitted based on the COVID-19 pandemic. Seating is limited, sign up today! You can visit sfcollege.edu/grrate for more information.
