Man charged with murder over death of toddler in Birmingham

A 31-year-old man was charged with murdering and wounding a 21-month-old girl at a house in the Northfield area.

A man has been charged with murdering a toddler who died days after sustaining a head injury at a house in Birmingham.

The 21-month-old girl was found injured at an address in The Green in the Northfield area on 19 November 2017.

She died in hospital two days later.

On Thursday, Sean Sadler, of Coriander Close, Birmingham, was charged with murder and wounding, West Midlands Police said.

The 31-year-old was initially arrested in 2017.

He will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court later.

Police said a 30-year-old woman, arrested at the time of the incident, was released without charge.
