Discover Bolivia During This Month's Holcombe Global Series

The presentation starts at 8 p.m. today in Holcombe Hall's living room.

The evening features a short presentation followed by a sampling of a traditional Bolivian dish, sandwiches de chola and cunapes.

Bolivia is home to a variety of historical, cultural, and natural wonders including: some of the most interesting archaeological sites in the world, Carnavals, and the largest salt flats in the world.

"My favorite part about growing up in Bolivia is growing with my community. La Paz, despite having over 2.5 million inhabitants, feels like a small community where you grow up with friends whose parents grew up with yours," said presenter and student Akeem Malky, "In Bolivia you can climb the mountains and touch the skies or get to see pink dolphins, you can dance, cook, and be yourself in a colorful way."

Bolivia is a landlocked South American country, sharing borders with Argentina, Paraguay, Peru, Chile, and Brazil.

"Bolivia is a country filled with history, traditions, and culture that may be unknown to you. Bolivia has shaped the modern world in more ways than people know of," Malky said.

This event is open to all within the university community. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and engage with the presenters after the presentation.

Global Series is an on-going program, and Iran kicked off the event series for the fall semester.

About the Holcombe Global Series: The Holcombe Global Series focuses on new countries each month and gives international students at the University of Arkansas the opportunity to showcase their home country. American students are also invited to share their study abroad experiences. The series is presented by International Students and Scholars and University Housing.
