"As sign spinners, when we go out to street corners, we see 10, 20, 50 thousand people a day, it's not very often we get them to stop," said Brown.

That's the point, Friday and Saturday, hoping crowds will be in awe as top spinners and their signage converge.

The ultimate goal - to be crowned the best arrow sign spinner in the world.

Laramie Rosenfeld has won - twice!

"There's trash-talking like any sports, I'm going to throw it higher, spin it faster and get the most clap and we take that to the corner as we do the competition," said Rosenfeld.

Like any pro, he didn't get here overnight.

"I started as a weekend job at 14 and out of nowhere, I got really good at it" "Now I enjoy teaching people how to do and that's why I've stuck with it. it's a lot of fun."

So the next time you see a sign spinner, know, they're out to advertise, out to surprise and perhaps, become the world's best.
