Southbound Interstate 15 is back open after icy roads in California closed the highway at the state line with Nevada, according to Regional Transportation Commission.

Ice and snow have been creating headaches for drivers early Wednesday morning on the highway connecting Las Vegas to Southern California.

CalTrans reported the northbound side had to be closed at Cima Road, about 13 miles north of Halloran Springs, because of "adverse road conditions."

The northbound side was back open by 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, according to CalTrans, with California Highway Patrol escorting traffic.

CalTrans also said a jackknifed big rig was blocking lanes on Interstate 15 near Nipton Road earlier in the morning.

Another semi truck was reported on its side at Halloran Springs.
