UPDATE, 5:30 A.M., Feb. 22 | I-15 has reopened at Primm, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP units are escorting traffic through the Mountain Pass. Drivers are asked to take it slow and watch out for ice.

The Nevada Department of Transportation warns visibility is reduced in the Primm area as well.

Northbound traffic remains open, with units providing escorts.

Closer to the valley, the southbound U.S. 95 off-ramp at Wagon Wheel is closed due to icy road conditions, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

UPDATE, 10:12 p.m. | Nevada Highway Patrol reports that SB I-15 is closed near Primm.

According to NHP Twitter Page, California Highway Patrol is working an injury crash involving semi trucks just south of Primm and the weather near Nipton Road Pass is creating hazardous road conditions.

It is unknown when the roads will reopen.

UPDATE (8:44 p.m.) California Department of Transportation reports that NB I-15 is closed again at the Nevada Stateline due to snow.

UPDATE (7:01 p.m.) Nevada Highway Patrol reports that U.S. 95 is open in all directions near Searchlight/Laughlin.

UPDATE (6:22 p.m.) Nevada Highway Patrol reports that U.S. 95 and SR 164 is back open after being closed for almost 4 hours.

UPDATE (3:31 p.m.) Nevada Highway Patrol reports a person has died from an apparent medical episode at I-15 and Russell Road. Check back for updates.

UPDATE ( 3:10 p.m.) after three hours of closure, The I-15 southbound has reopened to traffic.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Nevada Highway Patrol has announced that the I-15 Southbound has closed down due to snow at Primm. Drivers heading from Vegas to California can expect major delays.

No information is available about when the interstate will re-open.

This announcement comes shortly after reports that the I-11 southbound towards Kingman is closed near Mile Marker 2 is also closed as NHP assists the Arizona Deparment of Public Safety with the hazardous road conditions caused by the snow.

Southbound U.S. 95 is closed in Searchlight as well due to hazardous road conditions, according to NHP, closing all roads heading south from Las Vegas.

Westbound State Route 164 at U.S. 95 near Searchlight is also closed due to hazardous road conditions.

SR159 remains open, but conditions are slick and motorists are urged to use caution.

NDOT has issued a black ice advisory starting Thursday night through Friday morning.

Earlier this month, the I-15 was closed near the Nevada/California state line due to icy conditions.
