Rajkot: The idea of getting instant fame has landed two Gujarat youths in jail after their act of kicking a Nandi idol and uploading the video on to the now banned Chinese app TikTok, and WhatsApp went viral.

Recently, the Union government banned 59 Chinese apps including TikTok. However, these two youths identified as Jayesh Chudasma (27) and Dinesh Mahida (25) continued to use the application and uploaded the video.

As the video of the youths went viral and triggered anger among Hindus, the police swung into action and arrested the culprits.

The incident was said to have taken place in Shapar Veraval industrial zone on Wednesday (July 1) in Rajkot district. In the video, it can clearly be seen Chudasma kicking the idol while Mahida was recording it.

The accused persons were also seen smoking in the temple promises.

According to information, the accused persons who confessed to the crime told police that to make a “sensational” video they came up with this concept of desecration of Nandi idol by kicking it.
