Man arrested in Oklahoma City homicide of woman

A man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a woman found dead Friday in an Oklahoma City hotel room, police reported.

The name of the 60-year-old woman was not released pending notification of relatives. Her death is being investigated as the 61st homicide of the year in Oklahoma City.

Police officers responded to a report of unknown trouble at the Biltmore Hotel, 401 S Meridian Ave., about 10:20 a.m. Friday.

Glenn Russell Van Scyoc, 55, was in the hotel room where the woman's body was found. Police said her body had signs of a homicide.

Van Scyoc was arrested on a murder complaint and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for an illegal drug charge in Oklahoma County. He was booked into the Oklahoma County jail.
