Aggies host Lobos in return leg of Battle of I-25.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's basketball team looks to even up the season series of the Battle of I-25 when New Mexico visits the Pan American Center on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. (MT).

#ThrowbackSaturday
The New Mexico State women's basketball team is wearing throwback jerseys for the Battle of I-25 to pay homage to the teams that came before it. The jerseys are a nod to the previous Aggie women's basketball teams that played under the nickname "Roadrunners". The NM State women's basketball team was known as the Roadrunners until the 2000-01 season when they took up the Aggie moniker.
 
A Look at the Lobos
New Mexico visits the City of Crosses with a 7-1 record including winning the season's first iteration of the Battle of I-25, 83-58, in Albuquerque. Gia Pack led the Aggies with 26 points while Brooke Salas chipped in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
 
New Mexico boasts an offense ranked 32nd nationally in scoring (79.9) and has four players averaging double figures, led by Jaisa Nunn (17.5). Nunn scored 13 in the last meeting between the two sides and also averages 7.6 rebounds. Aisia Robertson is the Lobos second-leading scorer at 15.3 points per game. Robertson went off for 23 points in the two sides' first meeting on Dec. 1, in Albuquerque.
 
As a team, New Mexico ranks third in the Mountain West in field-goal percentage, making 42.6 percent of its shots while its 79.9 points per game lead the conference. The Lobos also lead their league in assists (17.9), rebounds (47.8) and blocked shots (60).
 
Last Time Out
The New Mexico State women's basketball team trailed for 36 minutes of game time but came back to beat Denver 66-64 on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Pan American Center.
 
After Denver opened a 10-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter, the Aggies closed the game on a 22-10 run to finish with a 66-64 victory. Dominique Mills recorded her first-career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Brooke Salas scored 15 to lead the Aggies. Stabresa McDaniel added 12 points in her debut in the Crimson and White with Aaliyah Prince scoring 11.
 
Defensively, NM State held third-best three-point shooting team in the nation to just 14.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The Pioneers entered the game averaging 43.4 percent shooting from three.

The Aggies kick off a road trip that takes them into the New Year when they visit Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at 4:30 p.m. (MT) before heading to Miami for the Florida International Holiday Tournament on Dec. 20 and 21.
