LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's golf team gets set for its first team tournament of the spring at the Rebel/Beach Invitational at the Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev. from Feb. 18-19. A tough field pits the Aggies against 15 other teams, including four Power 5 programs.
Joining the Aggies on the links are Arizona, BYU, Charlotte, Colorado State, Colorado, Fresno State, host Long Beach State, Nevada, Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico, Northern Arizona, UC Irvine, Oregon, San Jose State, co-host UNLV and Virginia.
The Starting lineup traveling for the Crimson & White consists of
Pun Chanachai,
Dominique Galloway,
Kehler Koss,
Maria Prado and
Tiegan Taylor. Chanachai is coming off the individual title at the Mission Hills Invite, the fifth of her career to tie for the program lead in victories, which earned the junior the WAC Golfer of the Week honor.
Play at the Rebel/Beach Invite is set for a two-day, 54-hole tournament to be played on the Spanish Country Club which is a par-72, 6,355-yard layout. The first two rounds of play tee off at 9 a.m. MT on Monday, Feb. 18, followed by another 9 a.m. start on Tuesday, Feb. 19 for the final round. After the Rebel/Beach Invitational, the New Mexico State women's golf team heads to San Luis Obispo, Calif. the following week to compete in the Bruin/Wave Invitational from Feb. 25-26.
