LAS VEGAS – With rain in the area and delays, the New Mexico State women's tennis team fell to Colorado State 4-2 in a shortened match that featured just singles play at the Fertitta Tennis Complex Saturday evening.

The Aggies (2-4) went down early on court No. 4 after
Yadira Rubio was bested 6-1, 6-1 followed by
Rebecca Keijzerwaard falling at the top singles slot 6-2, 6-2.
Harsha Challa put NM State on the board when she ousted Stella Cliffe 6-3, 6-2 on court No. 3.

Colorado State (4-1) took a 3-1 lead over NM State after
Gavi Kalaga fell to her opponent on court No. 5 6-4, 6-1.
Chloe Gavino made things interesting and cut the Rams' lead to 3-2 after fending off Riley Reeves' rally to take court No. 6 6-3, 0-6, 7-5.
After rallying in the second set to force a third,
Lindsay Harlas wasn't able to hold off Alyssa Grijalva and fell 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 – which gave Colorado State the 4-2 win.

NM State will wrap up its weekend in Las Vegas with an 11 a.m. match against UC Riverside on Sunday, Feb. 17, before returning home for a pair of matches.
