“I have been fortunate throughout my career to have had a job I loved doing every day,” Whitney said in an announcement.

“It doesn’t get much better than that. My primary goal always has been to serve the legal needs of clients in the Fairport/Perinton community with personal attention at a reasonable price,” he said.

In 1969, Whitney left a Rochester law firm to become a solo practitioner and he opened an office on Fairport Road. In 1989, he moved his law office to Pleasant Street in Fairport. In 2014, he moved his office to 100 Packett’s Landing by the Erie Canal in Fairport.

Fifteen years ago, the law firm of McConville, Considine, Cooman & Morin (MCCM) began to share office space with the Whitney Law Firm. MCCM will continue to practice in Fairport and will now serve the legal needs of Whitney’s clients at the Packett’s Landing office.

Whitney was born and raised in Fairport. He attended Fairport schools and graduated from Frankfurt American High School in 1956 when his father was in the Army.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan Law School, Whitney also served two years as a first lieutenant in the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1965 to 66.

Whitney served as Fairport village justice and village attorney. He has been active in the Fairport community as a member, director/trustee, and officer of the Fairport Baptist Homes, the Fairport Rotary Club, and the Perinton Historical Society.

Whitney and his wife, Jean, have three daughters and nine grandchildren   who live in Paris Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Raleigh, N.C. They plan to spend more time traveling and visiting with their family around the world.
