British couple’s Jamaica wedding in paradise turns into nightmare

Their dream of a wedding in paradise turned into quite a nightmare for a UK couple who now aren’t even sure their nuptials were legal.

Andy Helson and Heidi Brown saved for more than a year and spent the equivalent of $57,000 for the ceremony and reception at the five-star Riu Montego Bay, according to The Sun.

But things went wrong almost from the start when the minister was late to the ceremony, the wedding planner disappeared, and their marriage certificate was filled out improperly — meaning they might not actually be married.

The couple is heartbroken and outraged.

“It was sold to us as paradise but in actual fact, it was a nightmare,” Helson told The Sun.

The pair blame travel agency TUI for ruining their wedding day, during which they were left to watch hotel guests twerk on the bar.

Helson and Brown claim to have made numerous complaints to TUI but accuse the firm of failing to take responsibility for the incident.
