The New Jersey doctor who died sightseeing in Spain decided to extend his stay with his fiancée before he plunged from a hike to his death, according to a report.
Dr. Daniel Sirovich, 34, of Kearny and his fiancée, Kristi Kelly, made a last-minute decision to go hiking in Ibiza after a music festival they were supposed to attend in England was canceled, the Staten Island Advance reported.
Sirovich slipped on the hike Wednesday and was unable to stop himself from tumbling 82 feet off a cliff, according to his partner’s family.
“It’s a horrible end to a beautiful romance,” his fiancée’s mother Mary Ann Kelly told the newspaper.
Kristi, who is a physician’s assistant, and Sirovich traveled often and became engaged in 2016 on a vacation to Germany, the news outlet reported.
“They studied together, they lived together, they traveled the world together and their whole goal was to heal people,” Mary Ann said.
Sirvoich’s fatal fall came two weeks before the couple was set to move to Boston, where he was starting a new job in the intensive care unit, the news outlet report.
