Bhubaneswar: With each passing day, the capital city is witnessing a rise in criminal activities, holding on to its recent tag of being 'Unsafe' for denizens. Tension prevailed at Jagannath Vihar area in Rasulgarh today after a man brandished a gun at a youth following an argument with the latter over obstructing his car parked on the road-side.

The accused has been identified as Arabinda Mishra who reportedly works with a media organisation (name yet to be established).

According to sources, the incident happened in broad daylight when Mishra asked the owner of the vehicle parked in front of his car, to make way for him. No sooner than an argument cropped up between the duo, Mishra took out a gun from his car box and pointed at the victim threatening to kill him.

However, locals caught hold of Mishra and thrashed him black and blue before handing him over to police.

As per latest sources, the accused has been detained and interrogated at Mancheswar Police Station.

Though the gun in possession of Mishra was a licenced one for self defence, there is every likelihood that a case might be registered against him for brandishing gun to threaten someone.
