CASPER, Wyo. – Central and southern Wyoming are under a fire watch through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton.

Unseasonably warm temperatures and gusty winds, along with low humidity and dry conditions, are adding up to high risks for fire.

Casper Mountain and most of Natrona County is impacted by the critical fire conditions, according to the NWS.

High temperatures will reach 70 degrees today, and get as high as 80 degrees on Thursday.

Winds gusts up to 45 mph are expected.

Fall-like conditions return after Thursday, with some rain and highs in the low 60s expected on Friday through the weekend.
