CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Cheyenne Police department says that they are attempting to locate Benjamin Ketcham, 31, of Cheyenne.

Investigators say that Ketcham is a person of interest in a homicide that occurred on May 22nd in Cheyenne.

Police say that if anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Benjamin Ketcham, to please contact the emergency dispatch center at 307-637-6525.

Police have identified the victim as Aaron Briggs, age 36, of Cheyenne.

Cheyenne PD Officers say they responded to the 500 block of Central Avenue shortly after 11:00 pm, May 22, and found Briggs had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.

Police report that Briggs was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and succumbed to his injuries. 

“Officers determined the shooting occurred at the Lariat Motel, 600 Central Ave,” an official Cheyenne PD statement said Sunday, May 24.

This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department. 

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
