Amazon's two new delivery stations in Oklahoma City have officially opened for business.

Amazon welcomed new associates inside its 100,000 square-foot building at 6101 SW 44th Street in Oklahoma City and its 300,000 square-foot building at 6801 S Air Depot Blvd in Oklahoma City for the first time this week.

Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon’s order fulfillment process. Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment and sortation centers and then loaded into vehicles for delivery to customers.

Amazon officials say the delivery stations will create hundreds of permanent, full-time, and part-time jobs, in addition to offering entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own small businesses delivering Amazon packages, and independent contractors the flexibility to be their own boss and create their own schedule delivering for Amazon Flex.

Amazon also opened a new fulfillment center in Tulsa.

The state-of-the-art fulfillment center will employ more than 1,500 full-time associates who will work alongside innovative technology created by Amazon Robotics.

Employees at the fulfillment center will pick, pack, and ship small items to customers such as books, household items, and toys.
