The Thunder begin a tough three-game homestand Tuesday with Portland

After completing a two-game road trip, the Thunder will return to the friendly confines of Chesapeake Energy Arena Tuesday night to begin a tough three-game homestand.

First up for the Thunder is the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Thunder recently broke an eight-game losing streak to the Trail Blazers in Portland after the team won 111-109 at Moda Center on Jan. 4 as the last time the Thunder won in Portland was Feb. 11, 2014.

Russell Westbrook said it was personal to win in Portland.

“It’s a personal thing for me, honestly, man, especially winning here and we won here tonight,” Westbrook said. “I didn’t tell nobody; I just kept it to myself. Some of the other guys may have won here so the team is different, guys are different.”

Both teams will be on the second night of a back-to-back as the Thunder defeated the New York Knicks Monday while the Trail Blazers are coming off of a game on the road against the Utah Jazz Monday night.

With Portland looming Tuesday night, the Thunder will face the New Orleans Pelicans Thursday night and the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday night for the first time this season.

The Thunder may have caught a bit of a break against the Pelicans as the team announced Saturday that forward Anthony Davis is expected to miss 1-2 weeks of action with a left index finger sprain.

Davis scored 20 points on 7-of-20 shooting in the first meeting against the Thunder on Nov. 5 while Davis went off for 44 points in the second matchup in New Orleans on Dec. 12.

Meanwhile, the Bucks figure to be a huge challenge Sunday as they have won five in a row and currently sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 34-12 record.

After struggling a bit recently, the Thunder have returned to winning ways with wins over the Philadelphia 76ers and the Knicks. The homestand will be an opportunity to once again prove themselves in the Western Conference against three teams in the playoff conversation.

The Thunder are 5.5-point favorites vs. the Trail Blazers.
