The Oklahoma City Thunder will not be without guard Dennis Schroder for much longer.

The Thunder guard posted a video from inside the bubble on Tuesday afternoon. The video on his Instagram story shows him inside a hotel room with a basketball and some gym equipment, and then he walks over to the balcony overlooking the lake.

The Oklahoman reporter Joe Mussatto tweeted that the team confirmed Schroder’s return.

Thunder fans: Schroder is back.

The guard left the bubble on Aug. 3 to be at home for the birth of his daughter.

The Thunder have missed the guard over the last few games. Oklahoma City the 2-3 without him, though last game was also without four other key players, including three starters.

Bench units have not been nearly as explosive as the team struggles to find consistent secondary playmakers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s shooting numbers have take a dip, and head coach Billy Donovan experimented with different wings and typically off-ball guards on the lead ball handler role in the second half of the blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns.

With the playoffs scheduled to start Aug. 17, Schroder should have no problem getting back to the court in time, assuming he does not have the coronavirus.

Whether he’ll have time to join the team beforehand is less clear; the Thunder are still jockeying for position between the forth and seventh seed.

But getting him back takes the burden off others, and once he passes his mandated coronavirus tests, Schroder will be good to go.
