Oklahoma City Community College will host a dedication ceremony for a new sculpture and water feature entitled "Downstream Drifters."

The sculpture depicts a cowboy wrangling a longhorn bull and is embedded in a textured rock, covered by a reflecting pool to simulate the imagery of a deep river.

"Downstream Drifters" is crafted and designed by sculptor and saddlemaker John Rule. The sculpture was donated to OCCC by Jack Turner, a cattleman and longtime supporter of OCCC.

“We are very thankful for Mr. Turner’s generous donation of 'Downstream Drifters,'" said OCCC President Jerry Steward. "John Rule’s work will be a fixture on OCCC’s campus for years to come.”

The dedication ceremony, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday outside the college's main building on the northeast side of the campus, 7777 S May Ave.
