Oklahoma City school employee tests positive for COVID-19

From Staff Reports

A John Marshall Enterprise Middle School nutrition employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee was not directly involved in the preparation or distribution of meals, according to an Oklahoma City Public Schools announcement Wednesday.

The school district learned late on Tuesday that the employee tested positive.

“OKCPS is working closely with public health officials to address the situation,” the district announced. “And, while we must protect the privacy of the person involved, we believe it is best to communicate transparently with our families, staff and community so you can make well-informed decisions.”

Staff at the middle school, 2401 NW 115th Terrace, have been notified and were recommended a self-quarantine of 14 days. The building will be disinfected and cleaned.

Summer meal service will continue at the middle school. District staff from another site will prepare and serve grab-and-go meals outside the school building.
