Monsoon may advance into some parts of Odisha on June 21

Bhubaneswar: Monsoon may advance into some parts of Odisha on June 21. The south west monsoon may advance into some parts of State on June 21 as a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal was likely to move towards north-west Bay of Bengal triggering the process. This was informed by the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA University.

The system was presently over east-central and adjoining north-east Bay of Bengal and could move towards north-west Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coast on June 21 causing rains over the State from June 20 night, CEC director SC Sahu said. This would cause the south-west monsoon to advance into some parts of the State and the monsoon rain was likely to continue for the next three days, he said.
