Crook County Cowgirl soccer team comes close in 4-1 loss

Jiselle Gish plays defense during a match earlier this year. Cowgirl head coach Destanie Johnson said that Gish was the player of the game in the Cowgirls 4-1 loss to Pendleton on Thursday.

The Crook County High School girls soccer team played their best game of the year on Friday, but it wasn't enough as the Cowgirls fell to the The Dalles Riverhawks 4-1 in Intermountain Conference play.

The visiting Cowgirls and the Riverhawks were knotted up at 1-1 at the end of the first half. However, Crook County was unable to sustain their momentum in the second half as The Dalles scored three unanswered goals to break the game open.
