Prison awaits former Troutdale mail carrier for thefts

A former mail carrier working in the Troutdale vicinity has been sentenced to prison after a investigation led to her arrest and conviction for stealing mail over a period of years.

Jamie Dent, 38, of Portland, was sentenced Wednesday, March 5, in Multnomah County Circuit Court to 48 months in prison after a jury unanimously found her guilty of mail theft and aggravated identity theft. The jury found Dent guilty of 11 counts of mail theft and one count of aggravated identity theft, which occurred between December 2016 and September 2018.
