Birmingham Man Shot And Killed In His Home

An investigation is underway after a 31-year-old man died from a gunshot wound in his Birmingham home.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 31-year-old Birmingham man is dead after he was shot and killed in his home Tuesday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Roderuis Carl Ranch.

Birmingham police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to the home in the 1400 block of 31st Street North. The initial report was dispatched as a gunshot wound to the arm, according to Alabama Media Group.

Ranch was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:56 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
