Tarrant Shooting: 14-Year-Old Killed

TARRANT, AL — A 14-year-old boy who was sitting in a car at a Tarrant gas station was shot and killed Friday afternoon. The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the Exxon near Pinson Street.

The victim was taken to UAB hospital where he was pronounced dead within an hour, according to an Alabama Media Group report. Police said the teen, identified as Dajion J. Wynn, was a passenger inside a Dodge Challenger parked just outside the front door of the store.

Detectives are still trying to determine the circumstances around the shooting. For now, police said, it is a death investigation and not a homicide.
