Concord Man Snared By 'Bait Bike' In Danville, Police Say
Carlos Villanueva, 43, of Concord was arrested after Danville police officers set up a sting operation.
DANVILLE, CA — An alleged bicycle thief is behind bars after Danville police conducted a recent sting operation. Carlos Villanueva, 43, of Concord was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, on Camille Avenue at Iron Horse Trail after Danville police set out a "bait bike" equipped with a GPS device.
The decoy bike was placed at the intersection of Hartz and Railroad avenues with a lock on it; Villanueva is accused of cutting the lock and trying to make a getaway, according to Danville police.
After he was apprehended, Villanueva was booked into Martinez Detention Facility on a grand theft charge, police said.

His bail was set at $25,000, according to jail records.
