Presented by the MONTROSE-VERDUGO CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, the 42nd Annual MONTROSE OKTOBERFEST looks to be the best one yet! Friends and neighbors near and far don their Lederhosen and Dirndls to get into the authentic Bavarian theme.

This year the event opens with the first ever KIDS KICK-OFF PARADE sponsored by ROBBIN'S NEST. At 12 noon sharp local kids, Girl Scouts, & Robbin's Nest students will march from Las Palmas Ave. to the Wickham Way BAVARIAN STAGE. They will be carrying an Oktoberfest banner from Munich, Germany all the while playing the kazoo, blowing bubbles, and waving balloons on a stick! KAIPO CHOCK, past President of the CV Chamber, will serve as MC of the Bavarian Stage with help from locals GARY KELLY and MARC BROWN.

At 12:30 Los Angeles County District Supervisor KATHRYN BARGER will do the official welcome at the MONSTER ENERGY STAGE at Ocean View & Honolulu.

There is also a FOOD DRIVE where the FIRST 250 donors of non perishable food items will receive a commemorative Oktoberfest stein. The food is being donated to the BAILEY CENTER FOOD PANTRY.

It wouldn't be Oktoberfest without the star of the show, BRATWURST, from the one and only SCHREINER'S FINE SAUSAGES. Full meals will be available that include Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, Potato Salad, and Rye Bread.

There will be plenty of ice cold beer to wash it all down with including 1st time event sponsor WARSTEINER OKTOBERFEST BEER. Also new this year is the CASA CORDOBA Wine & Tapas booth.

Fun and games abound with rides for the kids and CONTESTS for all. The 2nd Annual Mustache & Beard Contest will be hosted by the MONTROSE BARBER SHOP.

LIVE MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT is a major draw. The Bavarian Stage will feature the ever popular BAVARIAN GERMAN AMERICAN BRASS BAND and more.

PAST ACTION HEROES will command the Monster Energy Stage starting at 8 pm. They are not to be missed! Your favorite songs from the 80's and 90's are their specialty, often sounding as good as, or better, than the original.

When asked her thoughts about this year's Oktoberfest, Montrose Chamber Executive Director VICTORIA MARIE MALONE shared this message:

"Over 200 years ago, Oktoberfest began as a wedding celebration. The citizens of Munich were invited to join in the festivities and the celebration became an annual event. This festival emits the joy of a community’s citizens in celebration, gathering together to eat, drink, dance, sing and be in the merriment of the day. As our annual Chamber fundraising event, what better way to showcase our local businesses, organizations, and Montrose itself. What better way to work, than to do so in joy and celebration with all of the community!"

The 42nd Annual MONTROSE OKTOBERFEST is presented by the Montrose Verdugo City Chamber Of Commerce. It takes place Saturday, October 5 from 12 noon -10 pm in the 2200-2400 blocks of the Montrose Shopping Park. Admission is FREE. See https://oktoberfest.montrosechamber.org/ for more info.
