16 Auto Burglaries Reported In Newark
Victims lost wallets with IDs, a passport, and valuable electronics.
NEWARK, CA β Newark Police report that between Monday, Jan. 6 and Sunday, Jan. 12 they investigated 16 vehicle burglaries in the city. No arrests have been announced. Here's a recap of the crimes:

2:50 a.m.: 10 auto burglaries occurred around the area of Haley Street and the Railroad tracks. Loss was only one pair of sunglasses.

1:25 p.m.: Officer Allum investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 6700 block of Graham Avenue. Unknown loss at this time.

4:11 p.m.: Officer Allum investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue. Loss was a pair of sunglasses, a wallet, passport, and gift cards.

7:09 p.m.: Officer Langenstein investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard. The burglary occurred between 5:40 and 6:05 p.m. The loss was determined to be one backpack which contained school books and a wallet valued at $200.00. There was no suspect(s) or suspect vehicle description provided.

9:39 p.m.: Officer Herbert investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard that occurred between 8:15-8:30 p.m. Loss was a laptop and carrying bag.
10:06 p.m.: Officer Herbert investigated a burglary to a vehicle in the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard that occurred between 8:15-8:30 p.m. Loss was a black backpack containing various medical and first aid supplies and hiking poles.

11:09 p.m.: At an undetermined time during the day, an auto burglary occurred in the 37000 block of Sycamore Street. The loss was a backpack, vehicle registration, miscellaneous work documents, and an iPad.
