CONNECTICUT — Based on recommendations from the Department of Public Health, the board of control of the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) has decided to temporarily pause all in-person interscholastic fall sport activity, including conditioning programs which are already underway, until Monday, Aug. 24.

CIAC executive director Glenn Lungarini released this short statement via YouTube outlining the decision for the temporary pause.

On Wednesday, the board of control voted to keep all fall sports intact during their customary seasons with modified schedules. The CIAC football committee had voted Monday to ask football be moved to the spring, a request denied by the board of control.
