MILFORD, CT — You can add Bar Louie to the growing ranks of restaurants that have abruptly closed at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford over the past few years.

In a Facebook post, Bar Louie writes, "To our loyal guests, our last day of business was January 25th, 2020. Please visit us at www.barlouie.com/locations to find the Bar Louie nearest to you. Thanks for the memories! -Louie"

Bar Louise also closed its West Hartford location, according to a social media post. The chain restaurant has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

In a press release, Bar Louie says, the company is going through a Chapter 11 bankruptcy sale. "In advance of the filing, the Company closed underperforming locations to strengthen its operational and financial position," the company's press release states, without specifically mentioning the Milford and West Hartford, Conn. locations.

Bar Louie, which opened in July of 2016 at the Connecticut Post Mall, joins 'The World of Beer' and 'Red Robbin' as eateries at the mall to close. Last summer, Red Robbin closed for good and The World of Beer closed soon after Bar Louie opened at the mall in 2016.

While the mall has seen its fair share of restaurant closures, the mall still touts Dave & Busters, Buffalo Wild Wings, newly opened, Guacamole’s Mexican Cuisine Milford, and a massive food court among its dining options.

It's no secret that with the meteoric rise of Amazon, malls and retail outlets are in flux and trying to come up with new, different kind of offerings to attract people.
