Varsity Boys and Girls Row Against Competition from around the Northeast

Spectators traversed the walkways between the Riverfront Recapture Boathouse, where crews launched throughout the day, and Riverfront Plaza, which provided picture perfect views of the finish.

Rowing in the Relentless for Simsbury were Maddie Dempsey (stroke), Sydney Marcy, Charlotte Derway, Marissa Phillips, Nola Hallemeier, Jess Serra, Morgan de Groot, and Katie Costello, with Chris Norwell (coxswain), coached by Ann Carabillo.

The Head of the Riverfront was Simsbury’s first race of the Fall season. Despite limited time on the water so far this fall due to low water levels in the Farmington River, Simsbury athletes were excited to give their all against formidable competition from across the Northeast.

On Sunday, October 13, Simsbury’s varsity and junior varsity crews will compete at the New England Junior and High School Regional Championships at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, MA.
