College Students From West Hartford Achieve Milestones

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Brown University, Providence RI

• Gabriela Hoefer of West Hartford was recently awarded a Love of Learning Award worth $500 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Hoefer is one of 200 recipients to receive the award. Love of Learning Awards are designed to help fund post-baccalaureate professional development for active Phi Kappa Phi members including graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, travel related to teaching and research, career development and more. Hoefer, a graduate student at Brown University, will use funds from the award to complete her Masters in Computer Science. She was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi in 2019 at Samford University.

Central Connecticut State University, New Britain CT

• Sophomore Aidan O'Brien of West Hartford is on the men's soccer roster at CCSU this fall. A sophomore, he is a graduate of Conard High School.

Fairfield University, Fairfield CT

• Julia Neal of West Hartford is a member of the Stags' women's rowing team this fall. A freshman, she is a graduate of Conard High School.

Quinnipiac University, Hamden CT

• Mackenzie Tibball of West Hartford plays on the Quinnipiac women's soccer team this fall. The senior is a graduate of Northwest Catholic High School.

Sacred Heart University, Fairfield CT

• Bonnie Wilder of West Hartford is a member of the Pioneers' women's cross country team this fall. A junior, she is a graduate of the Watkinson School.

Yale University, New Haven CT

• Giovanna Dionicio of West Hartford is a member of the Yale University women's soccer roster this fall. A first-year player with the Bulldogs, Dionicio attended Hall High School.
