WESTON, CT — The Weston Historical Society will host Westonstock, a day-long music festival and car show, on Saturday, Sept. 14.

In celebration of this year’s historic 50th anniversary of Woodstock, Westonstock will feature six hours of continuous live music including performances by actual Woodstock musicians Ira and Maxine Stone along with the Bar Car Band, The Cinnamon Girls, and Old School Revue and the Saugatuck Horns, a classic 60’s R&B band in vintage 60's attire. They will be joined by numerous guest artists of note from the Woodstock era throughout the day and evening. The music will range from early folk, Beatles/British Invasion, Motown, 60’s Soul, R&B, psychedelic, and soft and hard rock, according to release.

"The Weston Historical Society will transport you to the 60’s at this exciting community event," said Pam Kersey, historical society president, in a release. "Visitors can spend an hour or the entire day on our three-and-a-half acres of open field and museum space. Proceeds will support our renovations of the historic Coley Barn and Coley Farm House."

Adding to the 60’s experience will be the collection of vintage cars on display. Children’s activities will feature face painting, and arts and crafts. There will be a 60’s music trivia contest, and food and beverages will be offered by local vendors. Guests are invited to bring a lawn chair, kick back and spend the day.

"This might not be Yasgur’s Farm – but it will be a fun-filled day of peace, love and treasured 1960’s music from all genres… just what we need," said Roger Kaufman, Old School Music Productions and coordinator of Westonstock.
