New Bakery Coming To Saugatuck Center

WESTPORT, CT — Kneads, which bills itself as a bakery, cafe and flour mill, is coming to Westport in this summer in the space formerly held by Garelick & Herbs on Riverside Avenue in the Saugatuck Center complex.

"We are looking forward to providing the Westport community with breakfast and lunch options, artisan breads, pastries, and freshly milled flour alongside Irving Farm Coffee and In Pursuit of Tea," the owners wrote on the shop's under construction website.

The lease deal for the property was handled by Penny P. Wickey and Dan Neaton with Saugatuck Commercial Real Estate, which exclusively represented the building's owners, Gault Family Companies. in the lease of retail space to Saugatuck Commercial Real Estate was the sole broker for the transaction.

"Using our New American Stone Mill, we will be grinding grains onsite with window-watching encouraged!" said Kneads owners, Daniel and Brittany Moreno. "With our house milled flour we will offer a variety of freshly baked breads and pastries daily. Locally sourced ingredients will dictate our breakfast and lunch menu. We are looking forward to joining the Westport community, it's just what the town Kneads."
